This classic piece of furniture features a top bookcase which has opening paneled doors with brass effect handles.

Its shelves are filled with traditional sets of Shakespeare, Dickens and Walter Scott.

Beneath this a bureau holds a selection of letters, bills and papers with some little books, a personal diary and a small document case.

On the opening writing flap sit some bills on elegant headed notepaper, a set of opened post and an engagement diary with pen and spectacles.

The three bottom drawers pull open as do the two desk supports but the smaller top drawer is fixed shut. All items are glued in place.
